Bulbul is BCB president again, surprise in the post of vice president
Aminul Islam Bulbul has once again become the president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). The country’s first Test centurion has become the head of the country’s highest cricket governing body without any competition.
Bulbul and Tamim Iqbal were in the running to become the president of the BCB. But Tamim withdrew his candidacy on October 1, alleging irregularities. So, for Bulbul, becoming the president was only a matter of time. After the election formalities, he sat on the top chair of the BCB again.
Although Bulbul was elected as the president unopposed, there was a surprise regarding the post of vice-president. The previous day, Abdullah Al Fuad Reduan stepped down, and Faruk Ahmed was elected unopposed for one post. Nazmul Abedin Fahim was supposed to be the partner of the former cricketer. But to everyone’s surprise, Shakhawat Hossain took the remaining post of vice-president.
Bulbul has been working as the development officer of the ICC for a long time. He has been living in Melbourne with his family for a long time. He recently came to the country for family needs. That visit is now a chapter of change in Bangladesh cricket.
First, after the formalities of the elections, 23 people got places on the BCB board of directors. The remaining two came on the National Sports Council (NSC) quota. Later, the president and vice-president were elected by their votes.
